$600 million dollar U.S. embassy in Iraq is finished

The entire country is in a civil war, Baghdad is in total ruins, there is no clean running water, but by God there is a new $600 million dollar U.S. embassy recently completed.

The embassy is self sufficient so it has running water and a proper sewage system but a couple hundred yards away people are drinking unclean water and burning their shit in the streets to get rid of it.

There are two office blocks that will house 1,000 staff, six apartment blocks containing 619 one-bedroom units, spacious residences for the Ambassador and his deputy, a school, shopping centre and food court; a swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts; a gymnasium, cinema, beauty salon and social club.

THINK and TESLA Motors are two companies that are developing an electric car. Picking up where GM dropped the ball in the 90's and running with it. I see no reason why this can't work. We have the sun and wind to create power why the heck can't we just do it. These cars could spark competition from the big three, who knows maybe the GM EV1 will come back.

Let's see, we have a spineless Democrat Congress represented by Obama and Hilary on one side. And on the other side we have Giuliani who is a mirror image of the president we have now, except that the mirror is like the kind you find at the local carnival.

With Giuliani it will mean more wars with god knows what other countries besides Iraq. Giuliani will entrench this country in wars that may last the next 50 years, and kill thousands of Americans.

Now lets move to the other side. I ask the question does Obama or Hilary represent what we the people voted for last November? We voted for a strong Democratic Congress to smack down this administration if it thinks it is above the law and is not doing what we the people want.

I do see a person that may save this country and that is Ron Paul. He will listen to the people and do what what is best for them. I urge everyone to consider using CFL light bulbs in the future. They use much less energy and last 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.

The incandescent bulb has been around for over 200 years, isn't it time to replace that old technology? Yes it is. Less energy used means less coal used, which means less pollution. It's as easy as that.

I was recently given 8 CFL bulbs from Lifetune of San Francisco. I will be replacing any incandescents that I have with these bulbs and then giving the rest to relatives so they can save energy also. It is possible Lifetune will be giving away more bulbs in the future, I would encourage anyone who needs them to sign up.

If anyone is looking for an educational movie to watch this summer I would recommend "Who killed the electric car" Any Blockbuster movie rental store should have a copy of it.

It is narrated by Martin Sheen and focuses on the General Motors EV1 car they produced in the early to mid nineties. After watching the movie and then reading this article I know GM wasn't the only one who needed the EV1 to fail.

Thankfully we have another company out there that will not fold to the pressure of the oil companies and U.S. Government. Tesla Motor Company has developed an electric car and is talking about producing one that is affordable to all.

This is one of the most amazing stories I have read in a long time, and it happened not too far from me. This is a funny story but only because Ben Carpenter came out of it without a scratch on him. It could have ended bad but it didn't.

Ben suffers from MS, that is why he is in a wheel chair. If you would like to donate to MS here is where you can do it.

In Paw Paw Michigan on the southwest side of the state a handicapped man was in his wheel chair at a intersection. He started to cross it in his wheelchair and apparently an 18 wheeler truck somehow hooked onto him and he was pushed four miles at speeds of 50 mph.

Amsterdam vs. New York City - what a difference

What a huge difference an ocean makes.

In Amsterdam bicycles have been a major part of transportation for many many decades. They are used by almost everyone from the smallest child to the oldest grandpa. A bicycle is a clean mode of transportation which leaves you healthy as well as the environment.

Cross the Atlantic ocean and you arrive in New York City. Bicycling is used there but not near as much as Amsterdam. Not only that but it appears that biking is not welcomed in New York City as seen in a recent raid and confiscation of bikes by the New York Police department (Here is the video in the article).

Kind of makes you wonder if some politicians want more gas consumed rather than people using bikes. During the bike raid 2 people were arrested for asking questions about why their bike was being taken. So much for a free society when you can't even ask a public servant a question.
