A Sky dive from 18 miles up

On August 16, 1960 Joseph Kittinger jumped out of a balloon that was 102,800 feet above the earth.

He set records for highest balloon ascent, highest parachute jump, longest freefall and fastest speed by a man through the atmosphere at over 600 miles an hour.

The first 2 1/2 minutes of this music video are of him jumping, it took hime around 15 minutes to make it back to earth:
