Who killed the electric car?

Monday, July 09, 2007

If anyone is looking for an educational movie to watch this summer I would recommend "Who killed the electric car" Any Blockbuster movie rental store should have a copy of it.

It is narrated by Martin Sheen and focuses on the General Motors EV1 car they produced in the early to mid nineties. After watching the movie and then reading this article I know GM wasn't the only one who needed the EV1 to fail.

Thankfully we have another company out there that will not fold to the pressure of the oil companies and U.S. Government. Tesla Motor Company has developed an electric car and is talking about producing one that is affordable to all.

Here is the EV1 electric car

And the new Tesla roadster:

Watched "Who Killed the Electric Car" recently (great documentary), then i heard that GM and Tesla are making another run at the electric car (yay for progress!) hopefully development of this technology can continue forward uninterrupted by the powers that depend on oil consumption.
